The $100 million investment will support on-device processing, research into privacy-enhancing technologies, and engineering hires. Identiq's technology addresses the challenge of identifying repeat fraudsters across networks without pooling sensitive customer data, thus avoiding the creation of large, vulnerable data stores. Their patented method allows organizations to verify if an identity has been seen before by another institution without sharing customer records. Incode also highlighted its use of proprietary AI for verification, eliminating human reviewers, and on-device biometric processing for sensitive checks like age verification, ensuring personal data remains within the user's environment.
