This initiative also seeks to create new workforce opportunities for students pursuing cybersecurity careers, with further coverage provided by Statescoop. The Central Regional Security Operations Center, operating from Glendale Community College and Paradise Valley Community College, functions as a student-run cyber defense hub. It extends the capabilities of the Arizona Cyber Command by offering services such as threat monitoring, analysis, incident advisory, and cyber threat intelligence to smaller, resource-constrained government entities. This program not only elevates the IT security posture of these organizations but also provides internship experiences for cybersecurity students, preparing them for future roles in both public and private sectors. The state plans to establish five RSOCs by June 2029, each serving a distinct region, to foster collaboration and information sharing across Arizona's cybersecurity ecosystem.
