CVE-2026-62878 Windows DNS Server Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

A critical stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-2026-62878, CVSS 9.8) in Windows DNS Server allows unauthenticated remote code execution via specially crafted network packets. The vulnerability requires no user interaction and is assessed as less likely to be exploited at the time of publication. Microsoft has released a security update; administrators should apply patches immediately.
