Parsing crafted XML input may result in an out-of-bounds read and a resultant infinite loop, leading to denial of service. Only builds with 16 bit character support are affected, which in Debian is the libexpatw library shipped in the libexpat1 package. In addition, this update corrects a regression introduced in the previous security update (DSA-6404-1): on 32 bit architectures, documents larger than 2 GiB were incorrectly rejected with an out of memory error. For the stable distribution (trixie), this problem has been fixed in version 2.8.3-1~deb13u1. We recommend that you upgrade your expat packages. For the detailed security status of expat please refer to its security tracker page at: https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/expat Further information about Debian Security Advisories, how to apply these updates to your system and frequently asked questions can be found at: https://www.debian.org/security/ Mailing list: debian-security-announce@lists.debian.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQEzBAEBCAAdFiEExq6D0hxncEPaPayX+GQ1dHE8m64FAmqDuVEACgkQ+GQ1dHE8 m65+bQf8DN9nXl+DYrPAjg63z+LtaeASAjlUNZEE5pG8kP3+Gonv9Z8SYU/lacDR ATL+fWVNkHcvH0Y3jbQ2MVirO7ytj8ykFquPNoiJTvVFq6M4wiD/IC3/7rWrqBnt K2RnCqDRccMv6Zug6kQ4Vor4aHPeab5S+QuKdhiHPa5HHpkrWoi8odzpsduLu3be +Xwr+K4uO3iIPIoK4h0ylu4aOo438s0OyzObFyiqTfo3AkBqxfEQXQUDy8P8RFFS SpM9NlwINSaWOwHWk73VMu+EaiaHySiU64N4lpUGlL956wxLmNt8ELQfGf3/EO7p ekv7JCCX/tg1zA44Kd05KDcs6lxVbw== =6Avb -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Reply to: debian-security-announce@lists.debian.org Aron Xu (on-list) Aron Xu (off-list) Prev by Date: [SECURITY] [DSA 6445-1] ironic security update Previous by thread: [SECURITY] [DSA 6445-1] ironic security update Index(es): Date Thread
